These funds were used for three separate biomechanical studies: 1.To study the biomechanical characteristics of three novel self-cinching stitches used in shoulder arthroscopy. 2. To evaluate the effect of the size of tissue penetrating devices on stitch strength in rotator cuff repair. 3. To study the effect that the depth of tissue bite has upon stitch strength in rotator cuff repairs.

Outside Interests

In my time away from work, I enjoy spending time with my wife Courtney, our daughter Carson, son Charlie and our two dogs. I am an avid snow skier and had the great experience of being an alpine ski instructor in Vail, Colorado for a season. I enjoy hiking and mountain climbing and have hiked on four continents. I have summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa, Ayers Rock in Australia, as well as five of Colorado’s fourteeners. I also enjoy hunting duck and deer and fishing in the Mississippi Delta. My other hobbies are travel, golf, mountain biking, and scuba diving.
